What Sets Us Apart

Finishing That Defines the Space

Carpentry is the final layer of any renovation — the work the eye lingers on long after the project ends. Crooked baseboards, mismatched mitres, and rough doorframes will betray an otherwise beautiful home. At Luxevita, our finishing carpenters approach every cut, joint, and reveal with the precision of cabinetmakers.

Whether it's a single door replacement or a full home of custom millwork, we use the same standard: tight joints, dead-level lines, paint-grade or stain-grade preparation, and a clean job site at the end of every day.

Carpentry Services

What We Build

Every element of interior finishing — supplied, fabricated, and installed by a single accountable team.

01
Door Installation

Whether you are replacing a single squeaky bedroom door or fitting every interior door in a new home, the difference between a good install and a great one comes down to millimetres. We install pre-hung interior doors, solid-core slabs, French and double doors, barn-style sliders, and concealed pocket doors. For exteriors, we hang insulated entry doors with proper threshold sealing, weatherstripping, and adjustable hinges so the door closes effortlessly and stays sealed against Vancouver's wet winters.

Our Process
  • 1On-site measurement of the rough opening, floor level, and wall plumb.
  • 2Removal of the old door, jamb, and casing — including careful demolition to protect adjacent walls and flooring.
  • 3Levelling the sill, plumbing the jambs with precision shims, and securing the frame.
  • 4Hanging the slab, adjusting reveal gaps evenly on all three sides, and fitting hardware (hinges, locksets, strike plates).
  • 5Installing casing, caulking joints, filling nail holes, and prepping for paint.
02
Baseboards & Casing

Baseboards and casings frame every room you walk into — they are the trim work the eye notices subconsciously. We install everything from minimal 3-inch modern profiles to 7-inch traditional baseboards with shoe moulding, plus matching window and door casings in flat, mitred, or decorative styles. Every inside corner is coped (not just mitred) so the joint stays tight even as the house moves with the seasons. Outside corners are precision-mitred, scarf joints on long runs are glued and sanded flat, and the entire installation is left fully caulked and ready for paint.

Our Process
  • 1Selecting profile and material — MDF, primed pine, or solid hardwood — based on style and budget.
  • 2Measuring every wall, accounting for uneven floors and out-of-square corners.
  • 3Cutting and coping inside corners; mitring outside corners with a precision compound saw.
  • 4Nailing with finish nailers, gluing scarf joints, and scribing to imperfect walls.
  • 5Filling all nail holes, sanding flush, caulking top and bottom edges for a seamless paint finish.
03
Crown Moulding

Crown moulding is one of the most cost-effective ways to transform an ordinary room into something that feels architectural and intentional. We install single-piece crown for clean modern looks, as well as built-up crown assemblies (multiple stacked profiles) for traditional, transitional, and luxury interiors. Our carpenters cut crown using compound mitre techniques — every inside and outside corner is matched perfectly, with no gaps or filler tricks. We also handle stepped ceilings, tray ceilings, and crown that wraps coffered or bulkhead details.

Our Process
  • 1Choosing the right profile and projection — based on ceiling height, room proportions, and design style.
  • 2Snapping reference lines and locating wall studs and ceiling joists for solid fastening.
  • 3Cutting compound mitres on a precision saw, with test fits before final installation.
  • 4Installing nailing blocks where needed, then fastening crown with finish nails into framing.
  • 5Filling joints, sanding, caulking the wall and ceiling lines for a paint-ready finish.
04
Wainscoting & Panelling

Wall panelling adds depth, texture, and a sense of permanence to any space. We design and install traditional raised-panel wainscoting, shaker-style flat-panel, classic board-and-batten, beadboard, and modern vertical slat-wood feature walls. Every layout is custom-drawn for your room — panel spacing is calculated so panels align with windows, doors, and outlets, never with awkward partial panels in the corners. Whether you want a formal dining room treatment, a powder room accent, or a full feature wall behind a bed, we build it to look like it was designed with the house.

Our Process
  • 1Design consultation — drawing the panel layout to scale, balanced around fixed features.
  • 2Wall prep — locating studs, levelling the base, and removing existing baseboards if needed.
  • 3Installing the bottom rail, stiles, top rail, and panel mouldings according to the layout.
  • 4Adding cap rail or chair rail with mitred returns at door and window openings.
  • 5Filling, sanding, caulking every seam, and priming for paint.
05
Built-Ins & Shelving

A well-designed built-in transforms how a room functions and feels — adding storage, character, and resale value in one project. We design and build custom bookcases, media units around fireplaces, mudroom benches with hooks and cubbies, walk-in closet systems, home-office desks with overhead cabinets, window-seat storage benches, and floating shelves. Every piece is measured to fit your wall to the millimetre, scribed against uneven surfaces, and finished to look like part of the original architecture — not furniture pushed against a wall.

Our Process
  • 1Design consultation — discussing function, storage needs, style, and budget.
  • 2Detailed shop drawings with dimensions, materials, and hardware specifications.
  • 3Fabrication of cabinet boxes, face frames, doors, and shelving — in our shop or on site.
  • 4On-site installation with precision scribing to walls, floors, and ceilings.
  • 5Final trim, hardware installation, drawer adjustment, and paint-ready prep or stain finish.
06
Custom Millwork

When a project calls for something beyond standard trim — a coffered ceiling, a fireplace mantle, a window seat, a feature wall, or a custom-built room divider — this is where craftsmanship really shows. We collaborate with you (and your designer or architect if you have one) to build one-of-a-kind pieces that suit your home's architecture. Stain-grade work shows off the natural grain of walnut, oak, or maple; paint-grade pieces use stable, smooth materials for a flawless lacquer or matte finish. Every project starts with a sketch, becomes a shop drawing, and ends as a permanent feature of your home.

Our Process
  • 1Design conversation — reviewing references, photos, and dimensions of the space.
  • 2Detailed drawings and material samples for your approval before any cuts are made.
  • 3Custom fabrication — precision joinery, dadoes, biscuits, and traditional construction methods.
  • 4Site installation, scribed and shimmed for a perfect fit against existing walls and ceilings.
  • 5Final finishing — sanding, filling, staining or priming, and a thorough site clean-up.
